A member of the MicroField technical team recently represented our work at a major international microelectronics and semiconductor industry forum, one of the key annual gatherings for professionals across the electronic components and systems value chain. The forum brings together engineers, researchers and manufacturers to compare notes on where chip design, fabrication and smart-system integration are heading.
At the event our representative presented MicroField's core objectives and earliest results through a detailed poster, setting out the thinking behind our approach to micro-transfer-printing and heterogeneous integration. The poster format encouraged a steady stream of one-to-one conversations with specialists who stopped to question the methodology and share their own experience of comparable processes.
The forum proved a highly productive occasion. Beyond the formal sessions, the informal exchanges that followed each presentation helped sharpen our roadmap and surfaced several practical considerations for the manufacturing and test stages still ahead. We left with a clearer sense of how our work sits alongside the wider field and with a number of useful contacts to follow up.
